Plum and Mule Community Market sources its produce and products from all over NYS with an emphasis on sourcing locally, with a majority within sixty-five miles of Downtown Syracuse. Throughout the summer and fall season, Syracuse and Central New York have a bounty of fresh vegetables and fruits grown and produced by many of the farmers all year long. This year we would like to offer the best of the best from the farmers with whom we have been sourcing from the beginning. Welcome to the Plum & Mule Community Market Multi-Farm CSA program.

We have sourced all year long from a growing number of local farmers and purveyors. We have been overwhelmingly pleased with the amount of food which is grown in our own backyard. To show our appreciation and support of NYS farmers, as well as, help strengthen our food system here in Syracuse; we have put together a Multi-farm CSA membership program for the summer and fall. We hope you will join the Plum and Mule Community Market and help support those who grow this fresh, delicious, and wholesome food for you.

What is the Plum and Mule Community Market?

The Plum & Mule Community Market is an aggregator and online marketplace of locally grown and produced food. We make it possible for farmers to work together to meet the growing demand for local, sustainable food in Syracuse and Central New York. Farmers benefit from the marketing, selling, packaging and delivering of their produce and prepared foods. Our marketplace brings fresh, healthy, locally grown and produced food to you, the buyer, in a cost-effective manner on a weekly basis.

Ordering from the Plum and Mule helps to build and support our community, and helps to preserve our precious agricultural land for future use.

Multi-Farm CSA Box Membership Program

Our Multi-Farm CSA Box is a box of 8-10 vegetables per week grown from a variety of farmers. We work with these different farmers to hand-pick the freshest, local ingredients grown on their farms and deliver them to your doorstep. Membership to our Multi-Farm CSA Program is a commitment to purchase and receive vegetables weekly from our network of farmers. Along with receiving fresh vegetables weekly, you will receive discounts to all on-farm events, cooking classes, and any other events sponsored by the Plum and Mule Community Market throughout 2023. Members will also have access to recipes and/or tutorials on different vegetables and dishes from our network of chefs and your delivery charges are waived for the season.

Why Support the Plum and Mule Community Market?

We support a variety of farmers and local purveyors in our community and in New York State. By supporting us, you are, in turn, supporting the network of farmers, chefs, and local businesses who want to grow and strengthen our food system. When we strengthen our food system, we are contributing to the growth of our community which surrounds us, and in turn, it benefits our health, our economy, and our environment.

We work with and source from farmers and local purveyors to secure the best possible products each season. When working with so many farmers, we understand each farm is in actuality a business which takes on inherent risk - uncooperative weather, faulty equipment, pest and plant disease issues, and even farmer error can make or break each farmer’s season. While we cannot foresee any problems with one or more farmers, we like to be able to work with all of them to make sure the Plum and Mule Community Market can support and deliver food weekly to each of our customers. By becoming a member of the Multi-Farm CSA Box Program, you are agreeing to accept there may be inherent risks some farms may go through during the summer. Although it is not our intention to discontinue sourcing from those farms, hardships do happen and we will fulfill your vegetable needs with other NYS farms as we continue to navigate the summer and fall months.

We generally do not offer refunds or cancellations; however, we will consider exceptions based upon: major loss of income due to unexpected death or disaster, unexpected relocation, and unresolved customer service issues. An administrative fee will be deducted from any refund issued. No refunds are issued after Aug 1 for Summer Share and November 1 for Fall Share.
